Hello Chargers!
Welcome to K-1 PE! My name is Catrina Warren and I am excited for this year to begin. For PE this year we will be learning a range of sports and activities from volleyball to soccer to jump roping to football. We will also be learning how to tie our shoes in a tight bow to ensure the laces stay tied throughout the day. The first weeks of school will be online and we will learn the importance of warming up and stretching before starting any activity or game.
Allow me the chance to tell you a little about myself.... I was born in Pomona, California and raised in Rancho Cucamonga, California where my life was centered around sports. My sports career started off with basketball at the age of 4. When I started junior high I joined the volleyball team and continued playing both volleyball and basketball in high school. My junior year in high school I committed to a volleyball scholarship to Iona College in New York. In 2015 I graduated with a Bachelor Degree in Criminal Justice. I lived in New York for 6 years and moved to Arizona three years ago. I began my teaching journey with Archway Arete began three years ago as an TA in third grade and coaching PE for 3rd-5th grade. The next year I was a TA in second grade and coached K-1 PE. I have found my home at Arete as K-1 PE Coach and an ESSA. After hours I am the head coach of the varsity volleyball at Arete Prep and varsity basketball at Cicero Prep. My free time consists of working out, dancing, playing and snuggling with my 10 year old Shih-Poo, King, and spending time with my 5 siblings and mom. I also like to try out some of my mom's amazing cooking recipes.
I can't wait to get to know all your amazing kiddos and have fun watching them flourish as young scholar athletes!
GO CHARGERS!!! :)
